Job Posting: Clinical Research Assistant
Job Location: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD

HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant to support the Center of Rehabilitation Science Research at the Department of Rehabilitation (CRSR), located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to CRSR.

Responsibilities are to assist with the execution of clinical trials associated with specific projects and to ensure that all necessary steps including safety and following regulations are being taken. Candidates for this position will manage the daily activities of the clinical research studies and collect, maintain, and organize study information. They may also carry out the following duties in support of ongoing studies:


1. Ensures that regulatory documents are maintained and are up to date.
2. Ensures that all adverse events have been documented and forwarded to the appropriate principal investigator.
3. Reviews Care Report Forms for patient eligibility, protocol compliance, omissions, errors, etc. and files them as required.
4. Reviews the source document file for verification of critical variables, entrance criteria, visit date, lab data, etc.
5. Makes contact with potential participants for the purposes of recruitment and scheduling of research activities.
6. Makes contact with collaborators for coordination of essential research information and activities.
7. Works with research participants to collect data and provide research interventions under the supervision of appropriately-trained personnel. Keeps detailed records of administration procedures, behavioral observations, and adverse event reports.
8. Ensures that inventory and records are updated and properly maintained.
9. Conducts data verification for necessary documents.
10. Assists with the writing and editing of experimental results for presentation in scientific settings and publication in technical and peer-reviewed journals.
11. Provides reports on all patient visits as needed.


Key Required Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills; science-related background; research, organizational, and analytical skills a plus. The ideal candidate will be interested in pursuing a career in the health sciences and/or clinical research and is comfortable committing to a minimum of two years in this position.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree Minimum Experience: 0 to 2 years of clinical trial experience
