AcademyHealth Meeting

Attn: Pre-Health Students:

My name is Sara Balsam and I wanted to inform you all about a new organization that we’re bringing to GWU called AcademyHealth. In case you haven’t already heard of AcademyHealth, it is a “leading national organization serving the fields of health services and policy research and the professionals who produce and use this important work. Together with our members, we offer programs and services that support the development and use of rigorous, relevant and timely evidence to increase the quality, accessibility, and value of health care, to reduce disparities, and to improve health. A trusted broker of information, AcademyHealth brings stakeholders together to address the current and future needs of an evolving health system, inform health policy, and translate evidence into action.”

We’re excited to announce that we are getting ready to start our very own student chapter at GW! Our first general interest meeting will be Monday, November 23rd at 3:00 pm in the Milken Institute building, room B100A. We are looking to bridge the gap between all health-related schools at the University including the Nursing School, School of Medicine, pre-med undergraduate students, MPH students, etc. Spread the word and we hope to see you there!

Thanks,

Sara Balsam, Recruitment Co-Chair, AcademyHealth, MPH Health Policy candidate, class of 2017
