Shadowing Abroad With Gap Medics

PrintClinical Education Abroad for Pre-Med Students

This summer, Gap Medics is operating an exciting program for American pre-med students to shadow physicians and witness healthcare at work. Our two-week-long specialty shadowing programs are ideal for college freshmen, sophomores and juniors on a pre-med track. These programs have been running for four consecutive summers. This year, projects will take place in Iringa, Tanzania, in May and June of 2014.

Our fully supervised hospital programs are designed to give undergraduate students a comprehensive observational experience before they apply to medical school. Students will spend each week shadowing seasoned doctors in their day-to-day work. They will also participate in our daily Global Health Tutorials; these educational seminars give students a better understanding of the social impact of regional diseases on the country’s population.

Students enjoy secure accommodations, catered meals, airport transfers, local orientation, 24/7 support from our teams in Tanzania and the U.S. and lots of help preparing for their trips!

The 2014 Two Weeks in Tanzania hospital programs run on the following dates:

May 18 – May 31
June 1 – June 14
June 15 – June 28
