Part-time Internship at MetroHealth

One QI Position Internship in the Washington, D.C., Area for One Highly Motivated Student Wishing to Pursue a Career in Medicine

Annick Hebou, MD, an Infectious Disease physician, and William Campbell, NP, a Family Care practitioner at MetroHealth (formerly known as Carl Vogel Center), a non-profit community health center in Washington, DC, are seeking an individual interested in a medical career for one, year-long internship.

This position is available immediately. Although some flexibility with the start date is negotiable, the position entails a year-long commitment at 10-12 hours per week. Please only apply if you are available for this period of time. Applicants will not be considered if they are currently applying for medical school to begin in the class of Fall 2014.

The internship will be focused on quality improvement (QI) processes. QI seeks to track various health outcomes, such as the viral suppression of HIV+ clients or medical retention rates, and use the data to improve provider awareness and increase quality of care. Our established plan tracks various health outcomes across all of our services (Primary Medical, Nutrition, Food Bank, Medical Case Management, Substance Abuse, and Mental Health). You will learn about QI concepts and work with patients, providers, and the data team to enhance our current program.

The internship is voluntary and may offer the chance to attend conferences in Washington, DC, provided your schedule allows.

Interested individuals should email Khalil Hassam at khassam@metrohealthdc.org with a copy of their curriculum vitae or resume.

The clinic is located at 1012 14th St NW (Suite 700), near the McPherson Square Metro Station, just two stops from the Foggy Bottom Metro Station.
