This Post Has an Auto-generated Image

There are several ways to add a thumbnail to your post.

You can add photos into the body of your post by clicking “add media.”  If you do, then the blog will automatically use the first picture in your post as the thumbnail.

If you want to use a different image as the thumbnail, or only want a thumbnail image but don’t have space for a picture in the body of your post content, you can use the Custom Settings “Image” field below the content screen when editing or creating a post.

If you don’t include any image anywhere, then the GW monogram image will be used as a thumbnail.

Note that there’s a known issue with auto-generated thumbnails. If the only image in your post is a hot-linked image (“add media via url” option) it will NOT appear correctly as your thumbnail.  You’ll have to upload a photo to your media library to use as a featured image.
